The best way to support the open internet is through buying a domain and hosting something on it. Problem is, it feels like most of the good ones are taken. This site aims to help you find a nice dumb one, quickly and cheaply.
Why not .com?
Two reasons: One, those aren’t as cheap, and two, they’re overused. It’s often hard to find a good one. With this randomizer, you are guaranteed a cheap, weird domain, which you can use for self-hosting projects or if you need a name for your blog. Hey, it worked for Childish Gambino!
What’s the catch?
If you want to keep a domain forever, you have to renew it each year, and the many TLDs see sharp price increases after their first year. TLDs like .store and .online are relatively cheap in later years. Fun options like .christmas are not. Please see the Namecheap site for a price chart to ensure you’re making a fiscally responsible decision.
Finally, this is an affiliate site, so anything you purchase with this through Namecheap, we get a small portion of. Fingers crossed that it helped you!
Who made this?
Ernie Smith, editor of Tedium, and a self-professed bad coder. I hope you dig this!
